This is one of my favourite bullet journal layouts I have created so far. It was so much fun to make, and I love the bright red colour scheme.
Unfortunately, it was a terribly gloomy day when I was working on this and trying to take photos. I struggled to find decent light, so the pictures didn’t turn out very well, but you can still get the idea.
Here’s my layout for the 18th – 24th of June 2018:
Staedtler HB Pencil
Artline 220 Super Fine Felt Tip Pen (Black, 0.2)
Staedtler Triplus Fineliner 0.3mm (red)
Faber-Castell Tri-Grip Coloured Pencils (Red, Dark Orange and Dark Green)
I started by drawing out the rectangle I wanted my floral feature to stay within and sketching the flowers. Next, I used my fine felt tip pen to trace over the flowers, leaving any parts that touched the border blank. I wanted the effect of a straight line on all four edges, without actually drawing the line in.
I also pencilled in my heading and used my fine felt tip pen to trace the outline of that as well.
I used my Faber-Castell Tri-Grips to add colour to the flowers. Applying more pressure to the outer edges of each section results in darker colours, gradually getting lighter towards the middle. I filled in the lettering with a red Staedtler Triplus Fineliner.
Finally, I used the super fine felt tip pen and the red Staedtler Triplus Fineliner to write in the dates and days in my usual simple handwriting.
This layout is so bright and fun. It is one of the more detailed and time-consuming layouts I have completed, but the result was worth it. I love colouring in and find it relaxing, so a bit of relaxation while creating this bullet journal layout was a bonus!
